Here at Nolamy, we believe that every woman story is important.
That you are important.

My story

My name is Cynthia, and I am a French woman who has lived in the Netherlands for ten years.

It was here that I met my husband and we decided to start our family. Today, we are blessed with two lovely

girls, born just fourteen months apart.

Both of my pregnancies took place during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Living in a foreign country while experiencing motherhood for the first time, I spent countless hours researching.

My shelves were full of books about pregnancy, but I eventually stumbled upon a daunting and less-discussed

topic: the postpartum period. A completely new world opened up to me, one I initially thought I would rather ignore.

However, I soon realized that knowing the truth was for the best. Indeed, being informed was my greatest strength.

Understanding what comes next helped me accept the changes and move forward. I navigated informed through

my postpartum, and fortunately, the experience was manageable.

Why?

Because I was prepared. I knew what to expect, and as challenging as it could be, identifying the symptoms helped

me through it. At the same time, I couldn't stop wondering: why didn't anyone tell me about this?

Despite being surrounded by women, no one had shared the reality of it.

As I began talking more openly, I discovered that many of my friends were equally uninformed before giving birth.

It felt like a secret club you only join once it's too late. Many women I knew felt like they weren't normal or that

something was wrong with them. It broke my heart to see them suffer in silence when sharing knowledge could

have made them feel so much better.

This had to stop.

From that point on, whenever a friend became pregnant, I made sure they were prepared while reassuring them that everything would be alright.

One day, after talking with my best friend, I realized she needed more support, so I took it a step further. I decided to pack a box filled with love and practical tips to help  and pamper her. Her feedback was so incredibly positive that I began creating more.

Now, my mission is to ensure every woman has a friend to look after her.

I want to be there for the mother when all other eyes are fixed on the little wonder she just brought into the world.

You still deserve attention and care while your life is turning upside down.

That is why I am here.

That is why Nolamy exists.
